Amplitude Modulation (AM)
Frequency Modulation (FM)
Phase Modulation (PM)
(i) Amplitude modulation (AM) is the modulation
technique in which carrier amplitude varies based on analog baseband
information signal to be transmitted using wireless device.
(i) Frequency Modulation (FM) is the modulation
technique in which carrier frequency varies based on analog baseband
information signal to be transmitted using wireless device.
(i) Phase Modulation (PM) is the modulation
technique in which carrier phase varies based on analog baseband information
signal to be transmitted using wirless device.
(ii) Frequency of carrier wave is kept constant.
(ii) Amplitude of carrier wave is kept constant.
(ii) Amplitude of carrier wave is kept constant.
(iii) It is used in analog TV broadcast systems.
(iii) It is used in radio broadcasting, direct
satellite broadcasting etc.
(iii) It is used in data communication system.
(iv) It is complex in detection at receiver.
(iv) It requires larger bandwidth.
(iv) More complex hardware at receiver.
(v) AM types include DSB-SC,SSD,VSB etc.
(v) Digital FM types include FSK, GFSK, offset FSK
etc.
