(i) Total utility means overall benefit obtained by
a person from consumption of goods and services.

(i) Marginal utility means the amount of utility a
person gets from the consumption of each successive units of a commodity.

(ii) The total utility increase as more of a
commodity is consumed.

(ii) The marginal utility decreases with each
additional units of a commodity consumed.

(iii) Suffers from diminishing returns.

(iii) Declines for each additional unit consumed.

(iv) Total utility is also called “full satiety”.

(iv) Marginal utility is also known as “Marginal
satiety”

(vi) For example:
If you purchased two slices of pizza, your total
utility would be the satisfaction you receive from consuming both slices.

utility would be the satisfaction you gained consuming an additional slice.
