What is Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the GDP Deflator



Consumer Price Index (CPI): The most widely used measure of inflation is the consumer price Index or CPI. It is calculated by the bureau of labor statistic (BLS). The CPI measures the cost of buying a standard basket of goods at different times.
GDP Deflator: When we divided nominal GDP by real GDP we obtained the GDP deflator, GDP deflator such as a measure of the overall price level.
